What is the difference between a 106 (full port) and 206 (reduced port)?

The 206 series which is also known as a reduced port is similar to the 106 series (full port) except that the seats are one standard pipe size smaller than the flange sizes. For example, a 6 in / 150 mm 206-PG valve has a 4 in / 100 mm seat diameter while a 6 in / 150 mm 106-PG valve has a 6” seat diameter. View our illustration. 

Do your valves work with Air?

No, our valves are manufactured for drinking water/potable water application and select pressure relief waster water/sewerage applications only.

Do your valves work with Petroleum products?

No, our valves are manufactured for drinking water/potable water and waste water applications/systems only.

Can I add accessories or change materials on ULc/FM approved valves?

No, valves must be purchased as built as indicated on our website or as shown in the most current Singer catalogue.

Do you sell direct?

We have sales representative offices in many different locations all over the world. You can locate your local sales representative through our “Find A Rep” tool.  If we do not have a sales representative in your region, Singer Valve will sell direct.

Do you have a service department for field repairs?

If you are encountering problems with your valve, please contact our customer support group at 604.594.5404. Singer Valve will work in conjunction with your local sales representative to solve your problem.

Can I add anti-cavitation trim to a 206 (reduced prt) valve or an angle style valve?

No, the anti-cavitation trim can only be added to 106 series (full port/globe) valves. These also cannot be retro-fitted to existing valves.

Why won’t the valve modulate?

There’s a number of possible reasons that may cause a valve not to modulate. Complete the following steps and test after each step:

1. Bleed all air
2. Re-adjust pilot
3. Adjust the opening/closing speed of the needle valves
4. Change operating conditions to desire range or change pilot set-point
5. Check that the pilot meets the spring ranges required. If not, replace with pilot of correct spring range
